MI vs PBKS – MI Post Challenging 192/7 After Suryakumar’s Blazing 78

Mumbai Indians put up a challenging total of 192/7 in their allotted 20 overs against Punjab Kings at the Wankhede Stadium. Opting to bat first, MI lost opener Ishan Kishan early for 8 to Kagiso Rabada. However, captain Rohit Sharma (36 off 25) and Suryakumar Yadav (78 off 53) rebuilt with a 59-run stand.

Once Rohit departed, caught by Harpreet Brar off Sam Curran, Suryakumar took charge. The stylish right-hander played some delightful strokes, scoring his runs at a strike rate of 147. He brought up his fifty off just 34 balls before finally holing out to Prabhsimran Singh off Curran.

Useful cameos from Tilak Varma (34 off 18) and Tim David (14 off 7) propelled MI towards the end. While Harshal Patel picked up 3 wickets, Sam Curran also chipped in with 2 scalps. Despite some tight overs in the middle, MI managed to cross 190 thanks to Suryakumar’s brilliance.

For PBKS, the pitch appeared on the slower side which could make things tricky while chasing. With Arshdeep Singh and Kagiso Rabada opening the bowling, their batters will need to be cautious early on against the new ball. An intriguing run chase is on the cards at Wankhede.
