Powerplay (0-6 overs):
GT openers Wriddhiman Saha (13) and Shubman Gill (35) gave the team a steady start. Gill looked in good touch, hitting 5 fours before perishing to Liam Livingstone.
Middle Overs (7-15 overs):
Livingstone struck again soon after by dismissing David Miller (4) as GT slipped to 72/3. Sai Sudharsan (31) and Rahul Tewatia (32*) then joined forces to rebuild the innings through some sensible batting. However, the asking rate crept up steadily.
Death Overs (16-20 overs):
With 38 needed off the last 4 overs, Tewatia took charge and changed the complexion of the game. He struck two boundaries off Harpreet Brar in the 17th over.
