SRH vs MI IPL First Innings:  The Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad was a witness to one of the most explosive batting performances in IPL history as Sunrisers Hyderabad took on Mumbai Indians. Having won the toss, the home team SRH opted to bat first on a belter of a pitch. What followed was total mayhem as the SRH batters launched an unprecedented assault on the MI bowling attack right from the outset.

Travis Head led the charge with a blistering 62 off just 24 balls, providing SRH with their highest ever powerplay score of 81/1. He found able support from the other opener Mayank Agarwal as the duo took apart the MI bowling in the first six overs. Travis Head was the star of the innings, smashing a blistering 62 off just 24 balls. He got off to a flier, scoring 59 runs in the powerplay, which was the highest individual powerplay score for SRH. Head took the MI bowlers to the cleaners, hitting 9 fours and 3 sixes in his innings, with his 18-ball fifty being the fastest for SRH in IPL history. Being dropped in the first over Travis Head utilised the opportunity to hit a very fast fifty of just 18 balls.

Abhishek Sharma goes big with 16 balls 50

Abhishek Sharma continued the onslaught after Head’s dismissal, scoring a whirlwind 63 off just 23 balls. His innings was laced with 3 fours and 7 sixes, and he brought up his fifty in just 16 balls, which is the fastest for SRH. This youngster from SRH has finally proved himself by smashing almost every ball. Almost destroying the young Maphaka.

Heinrich KLAAAAAASEN shows a KLAAAASY Performance

Heinrich Klaasen played a blazing unbeaten innings of 84 runs off just 29 balls to provide the final onslaught in SRH’s monumental total. Coming in to bat after Abhishek Sharma’s dismissal, Klaasen showed no signs of rustiness and took the MI bowling attack to the cleaners in the death overs. He started by smashing Shams Mulani for a six in the 11th over and then unleashed his brutal hitting against the pacers. Klaasen brought up his fifty off just 23 balls, making it back-to-back half-centuries for him. He was particularly severe on Gerald Coetzee, hitting him for two sixes and a four in the 17th over. Klaasen’s clean striking and his ability to find the boundaries at will propelled SRH to their eventual record total of 277/3. His whirlwind innings was studded with 9 fours and 7 towering sixes, as he made full use of the favorable batting conditions and a lightning-fast outfield. Klaasen’s 84* is now the highest individual score by a SRH batter in IPL history.
