After a relatively sedate start, De Villiers and Kohli cut loose against the spinners, smashing them out of the attack. The final 9 overs produced an astonishing 167 runs as the boundaries kept raining down.
No Gujarat bowler was spared the onslaught as De Villiers and Kohli took the pitch to a different level with their sublime ball-striking. In reply, Gujarat’s batsmen appeared shell-shocked as they crumbled to 104 all out in the face of high-quality pace bowling from Chris Jordan (4/11) and Yuzvendra Chahal (3/19).
