Jasprit Bumrah led Mumbai’s bowling attack with an impressive spell of 3/14, while Gerald Coetzee also chipped in with two wickets. In reply, Mumbai Indians found themselves in early trouble, losing Ishan Kishan for a golden duck. However, Rohit Sharma’s quickfire 43 and a well-crafted 46 from Dewald Brevis kept them in the hunt. Despite cameos from Tilak Varma and Hardik Pandya, Mumbai fell short by 6 runs, thanks to some tight bowling from Gujarat’s bowlers, particularly Rashid Khan and Sai Kishore.

Sai Sudharsan played a crucial innings for Gujarat Titans, top-scoring with 45 runs off 39 balls. He walked in to bat at No. 3 after the dismissal of Shubman Gill in the 8th over.
Sudharsan got off to a relatively sedate start, scoring just 8 runs off his first 10 deliveries. However, he then started to accelerate, finding the boundaries more regularly.
He brought up his fifty partnership with Afgan’s Azmatullah Omarzai off just 36 balls, showing good game awareness to keep the scoreboard ticking over after the early wickets.
Sudharsan took on the spinners, hitting Piyush Chawla for a six over deep backward square leg in the 10th over. He then took on Naman Dhir, lofting him over cover for a four in the 9th over.
His innings came to an end in the 16th over when he was caught by Tilak Varma off Jasprit Bumrah’s bowling, missing out on what would have been a well-deserved fifty.

Rohit Sharma led from the front with the bat for Mumbai Indians, scoring a brisk 43 runs off 29 balls to set up MI’s successful chase of 169 against Gujarat Titans.
Opening the batting, Rohit looked in good touch right from the start. He scored a couple of boundaries in the first two overs against the new ball bowling of Umesh Yadav to get MI’s chase underway.
Rohit played some delightful strokes, including a fabulous off-drive and a pull shot for a six against Umesh in the 3rd over. He brought up his first boundary of the season with a sweetly timed cut shot.
The MI skipper added 77 runs for the second wicket with Dewald Brevis as the duo took the attack to the GT bowlers. Rohit was particularly harsh on the spinners, using his feet well against Rashid Khan and Sai Kishore.
He looked set for a big score before being trapped lbw by Sai Kishore in the 12th over for 43. Rohit’s innings was studded with 7 fours and a towering six over mid-wicket.
His 43-run knock came at a healthy strike rate of 148.27 and allowed MI to keep the required rate under control throughout their chase.
Rohit’s aggressive intent at the top set the perfect platform for MI’s middle order to knock off the remaining runs comfortably. His brisk start went a long way in demoralizing the GT bowling attack.

Dewald Brevis played a brilliant innings of 46 runs off just 37 balls to help Mumbai Indians chase down the target of 169 set by Gujarat Titans with relative ease.
Opening the batting, Brevis provided great support to Rohit Sharma at the other end during the powerplay overs. He got off the mark with a cracking six over long-off against Rashid Khan in the 7th over.
Brevis and Rohit added 77 runs for the second wicket partnership, laying a solid foundation for MI’s chase. The young South African looked in sublime touch, timing the ball beautifully.
He brought up his second IPL half-century off just 33 balls in the 15th over with a delightful straight drive off Mohit Sharma. Brevis looked set for a big score before perishing in the same over, caught at deep square leg.
His innings was studded with 7 fours and a six. Brevis played some gorgeous straight drives and pulls, displaying his wide range of stroke-making abilities.
The 19-year-old’s 46-run knock came at an impressive strike rate of 124.32 and ensured MI had the perfect start to their run chase on a good batting surface.
Brevis’s fluent batting at the top laid the platform for the middle order to knock off the remaining runs comfortably. His rapidly rising stocks in the IPL continue to soar with such mature match-winning performances.
