SRH vs DC – Sunrisers Hyderabad Demolish Delhi Capitals in Record-Breaking Batting Display

Sunrisers Hyderabad put on a batting exhibition for the ages as they decimated the Delhi Capitals bowling attack to post a mammoth total of 266/7 in their IPL 2024 match at Delhi. It was an innings of fearless and relentless hitting led by Travis Head’s blistering 89 off just 32 balls.

Right from the start, SRH batters went on an all-out attack, scoring at an astonishing rate. Head and Abhishek Sharma (46 off 12) launched a vicious assault, bringing up SRH’s 100 in just 5 overs – the fastest team hundred in IPL history. Their opening partnership of 131 off just 6.5 overs set the tone for the carnage that followed.

Head’s onslaught was laced with 11 fours and 6 sixes as he matched his scoring rate with Abhishek initially before cutting loose after his partner’s dismissal. Heinrich Klaasen chipped in with a brisk 15 off 8 balls before Shahbaz Ahmed took over, smashing 59 off just 29 balls to propel SRH past 250 in yesterday’s SRH vs DC match.

For Delhi, it was an evening to forget as every bowler went for runs. Kuldeep Yadav ended up with figures of 4-0-55-4 but even his wickets did little to stop the boundary-hitting spree. With small boundaries and a batting-friendly pitch, SRH made merry and posted the highest team total ever at this venue.

Chasing an improbable 267 for victory, Delhi’s struggles started early as SRH’s pacers made inroads. Despite a fightback from the middle order, the target proved too steep as Sunrisers completed a resounding win to continue their dream start to the season.
