RR vs LSG IPL Match 04 Live Preview:

Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will face each other in an IPL match on Sunday. Everyone will be watching Indian batsman KL Rahul’s performance and fitness closely who couldn’t play in the last four Test matches against England due to an injury. As the captain of Lucknow, he aims not only to perform well as a batsman but also as a leader. Under his leadership, Lucknow has made it to the playoffs in the last two seasons. However, he was injured in the middle of the last season, and then the team was led by Krunal Pandya. Initially, in the IPL, Rahul might play purely as a batsman, but taking on the additional responsibility of wicket-keeping could increase his chances of securing a place in the Indian team for the T20 World Cup.

In the upcoming match of RR vs LSG, Rajasthan Royals’ captain, Sanju Samson, is also a contender for the wicketkeeper’s spot in the Indian team for ICC tournaments and will aim to perform well from the start. The Royals reached the finals in 2022 but were defeated by Gujarat Titans. They had a good start in the last season as well but ended in fifth place.

The batting lineup of the Royals is strong with players like captain Samson, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Jos Buttler in great form. They also have Dhruv Jurel as a good finisher, who performed impressively in the Test series against England. Samson may strengthen the middle order by including West Indies’ Shimron Hetmyer and Rovman Powell in the team.

As for Lucknow, their batting relies on captain Rahul, Quinton de Kock, Marcus Stoinis, and Nicholas Pooran. Lucknow has a useful spinner, Ravi Bishnoi, who will try to perform well in the IPL to claim a spot in the World Cup team.

Additionally, the 41-year-old spinner Amit Mishra’s experience will benefit Lucknow. However, the absence of Mark Wood and David Willey, along with fitness issues of Indian players Mayank Yadav and Mohsin Khan, weakens their fast bowling attack.

RR vs LSG IPL Live What are the captains saying

KL Rahul (LSG Captain) – We would have batted first as well, but the wicket does look good. I’m happy to be back on the field, injury has become my best friend over the last couple of years, but it makes you hungry and perform much better when you’re back. QdK, Pooran, Stoinis and Naveen-ul-Haq are our four overseas options. The focus is on this game for us at the moment.

Sanju Samson (RR Captain) – We would like to bat first today. Looks like a good batting wicket, we were ok to do both, but we’ve a different combination today. Coming back to Jaipur gives positive vibes in the dressing room. Riyan Parag will be our number 4, Jos, Hetty, Boult are there – Powell could come in as an impact player.
